Mrs. Carrington is a zero budget production, a Saturday night party full of talented, penniless friends. The concept is unique: an online period soap-opera combining seemingly unrelated genres with parody and a thickening plot. The style faithfully reproduces the glamorous look of the 50s, while the show is shot directly in high definition black-and-white.
The series is written and directed by Fidel Martínez (“Killer eyelashes” [2008], “Luxury & Misery, Heoney” [in post-production]) in close collaboration with writer Alex Hernández-Puertas (“Company” [2006], “the Unfinished Masterpiece“, Martín Recuerda de Teatro 2008 award). The cast of stars shines the spotlight on underground characters Margot and Tormenta García, with guest star appearances by international stars such as La Prohibida, Deborah Ombres and Alaska.
Shooting takes place in Granada and Madrid, using historical locations such as Carmen de los Mártires, Abadía del Sacromonte and the garden of the Alhambra, as well as selected venues like Coctelería Verdi (Granada) or El Fabuloso (Madrid).
